Numbers of whites and small largemouth have been the norm lately but today we caught fish from an area that was unusual. No bait to be found but it held several fish. The picture was the largest of the day. It took almost 20lbs to win the recent 2 Guys Marine annual tournament. Big fish was close to 10lbs. The next 30 days will be interesting. A cold front or two should kick off the Fall bite but only Mother Nature knows. Farmers Almanac says it’s going to be a warm winter. Sunshine or snow Ill be ready. Feel free to call if you’re interested… 🎣
The fish in the picture is a 6lbr we caught last week. Fish are suspended from one end of the lake to the other. Most whites are suspended 25-30ft and the largemouth range from the surface to 50ft. The lake level has been stable and lots of fish are shallow in the right areas. In a recent tournament it took 5 for 17lbs to win. Another Amistad tournament this weekend will likely be the same. It seems the scoping technique is the way to go for now... Call or text if youre interested in a trip.
